The only festival of puppet theatre for adults in Prague. For the seventh year, Nekropolis brings to the Czech Republic international companies from the field of experimental theatre, as well as classic performances by legendary puppeteers. The evenings are dedicated to live theatre music and world music, which builds up into all-night jam sessions.
Nekropolis showcases diverse modern theatrical movements that combine drama, concert, movement, object theatre and multimedia. Acropolis Palace will come alive with the theme of death from 20 to 23 October 2023.
This year, artists from Belgium, Italy, France, Slovenia, Spain and the Czech Republic will present performances that combine black humour, a strong visual and musical component and virtuosity.
Nekropolis is an international puppetry and music festival for adults, which is jointly created by Fekete Seretlek, puppeteer Matija Solce, Studio Damúza and Palác Akropolis. It takes place every year in autumn near the feast of Souls, flirts with the theme of death and brings interesting puppeteers from the independent foreign and Czech scene and versatile musicians from the world-music world.
